Join Mohawk artist Marleen Murphy of Millside Ceramics for an intimate, hands-on cultural experience rooted in story, tradition, and connection to the land.

  1. First Peoples' Pots - Journey into story, tradition, and fire to experience First Peoples' Clay Pot Making in her Tyendinaga studio.
  2. Group Ceramic Painting Projects - Marleen will visit your community, school or workplace for group workshops or you can bring your group to her studio to paint small, medium and large ceramic projects.

Marleen’s workshops are fun and full of Indigenous knowledge. Marleen is a respected Tota (Grandmother) in her community of Tyendinaga and she’s ready to share her knowledge with your classroom, organization, business or social group.

She offers 3 different workshops based on the complexity of the project. Medium and large items will require more time. If you have anyquestions concerning this invoice, contact Marleen at 613-966-9640.

Materials, Preparation Time= $20 per person

Approx. Teaching Hours (including set up & clean up) 4 hours @ $25/h = $100 + Assistant = $200

Millside Ceramics Workshops

Medium Project: Canoe

Materials, Preparation Time= $30 per person

Approx. Teaching Hours (including set up & clean up) 6 hours @ $25/h = $150 + Assistant = $300

Large Project - Tealight Holder or Canoe

Materials, Preparation Time= $40 per person

Approx. Teaching Hours (including set up & clean up) 6 hours @ $25/h = $150 + Assistant = $300

Important notes for travel: To visit your classroom or workplace, the minimum participants per workshop is 30 students. When required, invoice will reflect the following:

  • Mileage rate: $0.64/km.
  • Teaching hours will vary, an assistant to Marleen is required.
  • Hotel and per diam will be added.
